Installing molding strip
I got a 81 chevrolet silverado that i just got of the paint shop and i want to install the side molding strip. The problem i have is that LMC wants a 150 dollars for there precut strip and i can get the roll from pepboys for 29.99. What i want to know does anyone know the measurements for each individual strip before i start trying to cut it myself.

Re: Installing molding strip
These arent exact measurements. There off by a few 8ths or 16ths of an inch but mine are
Front Fender-12" Door-40 3/4" Cab-3 1/2" In front of the rear wheel well-22 1/2" Behind rear wheel well-17 1/2" If you need them more exact then that I can go measure them again.

On my K5 it had the molding on it when I bought it. The strip is different than the OEM strip. It is not as tall as the OEM strip. Which would be OK if they had wrapped it around the corners and removed the OEM brushed aluminum/stainless corner pieces. They don't match at all. I am pretty sure this is what LMC sells in the bulk rolls and probably the same as the chain auto stores. From what I understand, the precut kits are the same as the OEM parts, or very similar. The ends of the cuts are "finished" where as the bulk rolls you cut yourself. Again, this is just what I understand. I have no direct experience with either, except whats on my K5.
