Re: Big window trucks
They are a little rarer than the small window trucks... I don't know exactly how 'rare' but there are fewer...

Re: Big window trucks
The big back glass was know as Option Number A10 - Full-View Rear Window. The small back glass has 331 square inches of surface area and the big back glass has 762 square inches of surface area.
I read in one of my reference manuals, but I can't locate it now, that the ratio of small back glass to big back glass was approximately 10:1, therefore the big back glass option A10 was rather rare and is now somewhat more desireable, due to the limited production numbers. |

Re: Big window trucks
here is kind of a ratio:
the local wrecking yard has about 60 60-66 trucks. 2 bbw's, 3 2wd short fleet, and 2 4wd shortstep. all the rest are sbw long fleet, about 5 short or long step. |

Re: Big window trucks
Woog:
Thanks for the heads up. I have both of those books, as well, but did not reference them. It will be interesting to cross-check all of the published production numbers available for accurancy and agreement with each other. Thanks again for sharing. You always have good information and are a valuable resource for the '60-'66 Chevy trucks. Thanks for your expertise. |
