Re: Custom Rear Bumper.

I made a rear bumper for my '65 Chevy C10 lwb fleetside out of 4" steel pipe with end caps. It looked cool and worked great, but I go with the stock equipment now. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to share.

Re: Custom Rear Bumper.

I was staring at mine today, and thinking about flipping it upside down (because the bumper ends seem upside down from the bedsides?) at the brackets. I'd then fab some roundy-triangle-shaped exhaust tips that would fit together into the recess. Just a thought. Has that been done before? It seems so easy...

You could also cut down a front bumper- that would at least get rid of the dip in the middle.

Re: Custom Rear Bumper.

Thanks guys got some 6" channel laying around and plenty other scrap. Me being the cheap person i am pondering the idea. Dad built one for a 78 he had a long time ago never had any problem with it again, even when our old oak tree feel on his truck in the back yard the whole truck got mashed but the bumper didn't move.
