Power booster question
Will the valve and master cylnder from a nonpower brake sytem work on a booster equiped truck?

I think it depends on the year, but as far as I know the master is diffrent, but if you are not converting the drums to disk, I would think the valve is the same.

I have a 70' and I just changed over to power
brakes. I changed the master cylinder for $18, Im not sure If I needed to, but the parts dude suggested it... Power is a massive step upwards!! Drums gotta go next........ Good Luck

The master cylinders are different because the piston on the non-power has a shallow hole where the rod fits and the power master cylinder has a deep hole. You should be ok on the valve unless changing to discs.

M/C piston recesses
Careful about the deep vs shallow m/c piston. I have a dual diaghram power booster that has the short rod, therefore using the shallow piston booster. The unit came off a '72 Suburban. My other single diaphram boosters are the deep style. Incidently, there were two different "deep" pistons produced and one shallow version according to the GM manual I have.
