speed warning dash???

What does a speed warning dash look like? I just drug home a truck that has a white pointer at about 55mph. I don't see how to move it.

Re: speed warning dash???

THANKS. Thats it. Although I didn't see the knob by the light switch, it must be there. How does the knob control the indicator? Cable??

Re: speed warning dash???

Its a cable that loops into speedo, then there should be a wire that hooks to back of setup on tin and then it connects to back buzzer mounted on inside firewall then to fuse box

Re: speed warning dash???

...so does its buzz or light up a light?

..im assuming its basically just supposed to annoy the driver.

Re: speed warning dash???

it was optional on trucks... 69 was the last year for it though. It was more common on the bigger trucks.
A buzzer goes off, and it's kinda there to annoy the driver, but it's there so you know you are going X mph. You'd simply set it for 5 MPH over the speed limit, and you'd know when to let off the gas.

Re: speed warning dash???

I have heard it was more common in the bigger trucks, but have never seen one in a bigger truck. I have only seen a few of these IN TRUCKS FROM THE FACTORY. 2 were 1/2 tons, and one was a 3/4 ton camper special.
I just used CAPS to clarify that these were factory optioned trucks. (anyone can add one)
Andy is correct on 69 being the last year. I believe the cruise control took the place of this. Nice find either way! I am sure it would look good hanging up in my basement. HA, Eric
