Re: Nice survivor

strange how somebody took the hole saw to the bed as far as the spare tire claim thats BS you can clearlysee the marks where lugnuts were installed
then theres the odometer the classic turnback where the numbers dont quite lineup

a nice basic low option truck for sure BUT its being sold with tall tales and deception

Re: Nice survivor

looks like rust bubbles above the heater box and paint is missing on the seam in the same area. it looks nice but a few things don't add up for such a low mileage truck-- wrong hubcaps, appearance of the motor, rust in the firewall to name a few.

Looks, nice but I was looking at the rust above the heater box as well. Seems odd that it is rusting while everything else looks so good.

Re: Nice survivor

I ve got 69 with lower original miles than this one, it has always been covered in some sort of garage, never one with climate control so humidity can and dose get to them and they will rust a bit. Not always where you would expect. You never know if there original from the pics I would have to see it for sure in person if I was a buyer. but I'd say this one from where I'm sitting could be a original. Is anyone on the board going to look at it, someone on here must be close by.

That was my question. I can see that if it really had that many more than 11,000, the second 1 might be going up, instead of them all going down, does sound like a few tall tales, maybe that's what the PO told the seller, you never know who knows the truth and who is lying, you would have to interrogate the seller to truly know for sure, one of the members should go look at it and see how much is true and how much is fake.

I'm not sure, but by looking at the under hood pics, I think it has the ambulance engine.

If i had the $$ to spend on an old truck like that -- i would most likely offer up a few Benjies to someone to do that for me if it is really far away --- might save the cost of a plane ticket that way --- ya gotta admit - the truck still looks tip top though

All jokes aside, it is a clean truck. If I wasn't a broke Army guy, I would consider it.

Re: Nice survivor

Someone should email him and ask to see a picture of the SPID sheet and see if it matches the invoice in the pic.

Re: Nice survivor

jay shy,
i think that would be a great idea. i am not sure about what is true & not.. putting that i aside, to me (untrained eye ofcourse) it does look pretty authentic & i would not mind having it to drive daily.i am not sure what the reserve is, but i am not sure if i would go much more than the 13,000 bid now....still a nice overall truck i think....

Re: Nice survivor

I asked to see it (SPID) and he didn't know what it was, I told him where to find it, we will see. It will tell a lot about the truck and a lot of guys don't want to show it as it can hurt the trucks value. I wouldn't buy a truck that claimed to be original unless the original SPID was there, I could see it and it matched the trucks options.
It is a nice looking truck though.

What's up with the black glove box door? I thought they were body color unless they had the black or wood grain decal.
