traxxas T-maxx, r-c monster truck w/72 chevy body

this is a story about my "bonehead play of the week". my girlfriends oldest son came down to visit last week and brought his t-maxx. i thought it looked like a fun little truck so i go on craigslist and find a nice used one just a few miles from my house. only $175 bucks--less than 1/2 the price of new--it ran great so i forked out the cash and after a quick stop at the hobby shop for more fuel ($32.00 a gallon) i'm home and already making plans to order the "72 chevy truck body for it. i've never driven one of them before but figure if the kids can drive one so can i, can't be that hard, right ? i fire it up and take off up the street turn around and bring it back, he!!, this is easy, turn it around and haul butt back up the street, wide open, start making my turn and-bam-CRASH head on into the curb. now the only thing holding the front half to the back half is the tie rod. all the new parts are on order and should be here thursday- two bulkheads, a skidplate and 4 new shocks and we'll try it again.

I had got bitten by the Nitro RC bug really bad about 2 years ago... They are alot of fun but you can sink a TON of cash in to them... You can buy billet and titanium EVERYTHING!!! I have paid more for shocks on an RC truck than I have on a real truck! Lol.. Have fun!

maybe that fuel at 32 bucks a gallon will make your big truck run like them small ones

Re: traxxas T-maxx, r-c monster truck w/72 chevy body

I used to be into R/C's a few years ago. I never was satisfied, I would hop them up, and still want them faster. But the faster I made them, the more I broke them. I realized how much they cost and how frustrating they where so I have them hanging on the wall now. I have an RC10T4 Team Truck with an Epic 27T motor, and a Duratrax Nitro Evader with a .18 ci motor.

Re: traxxas T-maxx, r-c monster truck w/72 chevy body

I know this isn't the classified section and I might get a paddlin for this , but I've got a pair of nitro R/C cars for sale. Got a bunch of parts to go with em and a gallon of Fuel for $250. Of course if you aren't close enough to pick em up you know I can't ship the fuel. I can get pics if anyone is interested.

If you think the cars are bad just try flying RC I have been flying since I was about 14 and I raced the cars before that and I bet I could have put blowers on all yourguy's trucks with all the money I have wasted to this addiction. but I'm on the path to recovery and I only have 5-6 planes now.. one thats got about $700 in it and a couple the others are 200-300 cheepys oh and stay away from RC helis you can go through $3000 in a heart beat in a few crashes just ask me how I know

Dang Jerry.... just don't drive the fullsize trucks like you drove the t-maxx. I picked up a Savage a few years ago... when I thought I wouldn't find a classic truck for a while. One month later the Savage is on the tool bench and the '72 is under the wrench.

Be sure to post some pics of the '72 body on the T-Maxx, I've thought about picking one up for the Savage.
