West coast Mirror mount question
When I got my truck the mirrors were taken off. I have since sanblasted and painted them. Can someone tell me if the bottom screws originally are self tapping or do I need to get a screw and place the bolt from inside the door? Also show some pics of the top of the door screw and bolts please.. david

Mine have little studs that spot weld from inside the door, and then just the threaded parts sticks out, and you hold the mirrors on with acorn nuts.
However, the bolt & nut thing would work well, I'd think.

the Assembly book calls them a screw and it does not show any nut on the inside of the door skin the top mount is a bolt with a nut

Got my set off the internet. Came with nylon inserts that fit in holes you drill through the doors, they're kept in place with hex screws. Here's where mine wound up:
