Can you lay on a 265/40/22?
Hey everybody, I just crossed over from fullsizechevy.com and have a question. I am buying parts to bag a 73-87 1/2 ton and am looking a wheels and tires. I am going with coys c-5s and yokohama parada spec-x tires. will a 265/40/22 lay in the from with a bodydrop to the rocker with the pinch weld gone? i know all about the Z and crossmember drop, i just need to know if a 30.5 in tire will physically fit under the hood? i know i will have to modify the hood hinges and stuff too. just checking before i buy, if they wont fit i am putting 255/45/20s on the front for a staggered look. thanks.

Re: Can you lay on a 265/40/22?
i would just measure but im 3 weeks from coming home from iraq right now. a buddy of mine here has a contact a tirerack and can order the yokohama parada spec x at cost, so i was going to order them now if i know they fit. i knew i would have to tub the firewall, i just wanted to make sure they would clear the fender edge and hood. i know a 265/35/22 works at 29.3 inches so i was just checking, because i want a little more sidewall to ride on. thanks

if you want the sidewall then i would step done to 20's. a 265/35/22 isn't that bad thou. there's alot of people rolling around on them. not as skinny as some of the crazy tires out.
