Original Price

Here's a question for some of you guys with more...life experience.

I'm kind of curious to know what some of the original selling prices were on these trucks. Specifically my '77 C30.

Anybody remember back that far? Or maybe somebody has a link with that info, or a pricing sheet or something.

Re: Original Price

My Mom and Dad bought this 1978 Chevy Sport brand new from Don Maxwell Chevrolet in Newark, Ohio. I was 13 and vividly remember my Dad haggling it for $6000.00 out the door. Oh my, I had a lot of fun in that truck!!!!!!

Re: Original Price

my mom and dad bought a 73 c10 longbed 3 speed on the column with a 250 six on one of the last days of the year in 73 in albany ore. for $2950. we had a farm and raised a few beef. he had it for over 10 years and I can't even begin to tell you the loads he hauled with that truck. he hauled anything and everything with that rig, it was unbelievable.

Re: Original Price

My 1977 Chevy Sport was a leftover. I paid around $5600 in Massachusetts, February 1978. It had a 350 4bbl, at, p/s, p/b, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, am/fm radio, sliding rear window, step bumper, guages, dual gas tanks, and a Scottsdale interior with the Sport package.

I found a sales receipt in the owner's manual of my recent purchase. The first owner paid $6000.56 in Richmond, California, March 1977.

Re: Original Price

I know its a Ford, but Chevy was very competitive on price, and its a great visual. So a plain 6 cyl 3 spd C10 was about $4000, a C30 would be about $5000 my guess.
