Is this a factory mirror or aftermarket?

Yes, that is a factory RETRAC mirror option. These were a more common option on GMC's. They are made out of aluminium and adjustable(lock in place). It is a very good and solid below eye line type that miniumizes blind spots. The yellow "CHEVRONS" painted on the back of all RETRAC's added to safety.

Ok, thanks for the info. Original owner told me he got them because of the "break away" feature. But I neglected to ask him if it was a stock option.
