Re: antenna help

I just put a different one on my blazer yesterday. I think I used a 1 1/16 in wrench (somewhere around there) and loosened the the part with the hex head on it. I slid that one up and off the antenna, then pulled the next chrome piece off the same way. I've seen two types of antennas, one with two "feet" that swivel, and one with a solid piece that rocks on two studs. Either way, you push the antenna down into the cowl a few inches, and swivel the "feet" or plate to be vertical, and then just pull it out. The feet kind is pretty easy, the plate kind takes some messing around to get it. It is easiest to pull the glove box liner out to feed the antenna wire through the fire wall. If you don't pop the rubber gromet around the wire out of the fire wall from inside out, it or the connector can be damaged while pulling the it portion through the fire wall. When I put mine back in, I pushed the gromet back in and then put silicone on it.
