Cutting bag cups too short = this....

Fixed it with this...I dont like the lower plates because its not as low as the cups but it will have to suffice until I get the front Z'd. Better than rubbin bags! Never low enough!

Re: Cutting bag cups too short = this....

I didnt like the looks of the bags on my cut down cups, I made some lower plates for my truck also. I would like to have some good detailed info on the z'ing the frame, what, where and how much to cut and I would try that.

They are a nice and serve an important function Thanks! Once I Z the front I wont care about losing that .5" or so of drop that the cups gave me.

not without some mods to the lower cups. Of course if you dont mind the bag rubbing it doesn't matter. Also, I'm running RE7 bags which are what most are running. I think most comparable bags are close to the same diameter.

No mods required, or so say some ... been a while since this came up, but quite a few folks in the past have sworn "don't worry about cups, just run them in the lower control arm pocket ... they'll be fine" ... much to the dismay of a few of us "safety conscious" old farts.

Re: Cutting bag cups too short = this....

Just Great, I just got some 1.5" cups.. and i was gonna get the plates from jlaird... that was my original plan maybe i should have stuck with it.

but i was just unsure if i could get my fenders to rest on my 28" tall tires with just using the plates and a drop spindle...

I cut my cups to 1 5/8" with out rubbing problems, but I'm running '73+ control arms.
