Heater Core / Install
I know that since i live in SOCAL i dont really need a heater (dam sure need an A/C ). But during my recent motor install i think i cracked one of the welds on the outlet lines from the heater core when i was replacing both hoses. Not much of a leak but enough for it to bother me.
Question : How much of a pain in the butt is it to replace? Any suggestions on making it easier to replace without me having to learn the hard way? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Semper Fi Mel

If you could get some sandpaper on the crack maybe try some JB Weld......

I just did mine on my '77. Not to bad to deal with. Non AC
1. drained a little fluid off the coolant to be below the fittings. 2. removed the hoses 3. removed the 3 nuts on the heater box cover (inside the engine compartment) 4. took off glove box door 5. removed the floor deflector 1 screw 6. unhooked the control cables 7. unhooked the defroster vent ducting from the box. 1 screw 8. removed 1 or 2 bolts from under the dash holding the heater core box to the fire wall and removed 9. removed core from box & replaced with new core after cleaning and painting 10 reverse order to install I'm slow, it took me most of the day most of it cleaning any painting waiting for the paint to dry. My heater core leaks so I just disconnected it 15 yrs ago and have been without a heater since

that one bolt on the bottom is a pain had to use 2 extensions an a uni- wiggle and a couple of bad words next time ill pull the inner fender out.
