Gimme A Bullet!

I`m so broke,wah wah wah....

Saturday I saw this`79 K/10 Suburban for sale at the local Park`n`Ride (used car lot on weekends). It was black and silver two-tone,looked pretty nice. So,I pull in to take a look, even though I can`t pay to play. The first thing I notice was a Colorado tag.Actually, the first thing I notices driving by was it had that paint with the hood silver and those bold stripes at the edges of the hood,as original. It`s nice all over inside out.Original red interior,no rust, shiney "original" paint...just extremely clean and apparently original.I`m getting excited, now. There`s just`79 Suburban and the phone number on the window,no price. For some dumb reason I call when I get home, leave message,go about my day.A few hours later the guy calls back.It has Colorado plates because he just brought it back from his parent`s summer home they sold where this thing sat in a garage. Those vinyl stripes looked new. They bought it in`81,garage kept, summer driven,50,000mile,400/TH400,posi,all original.ready to show.I asked what he would want for it.............................................................$3,500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He said someone else had called but hadn`t committed.Man,I`m thinking who I can borrow the money from, searching my mind, considering jigalowing for some 80 year old woman...anything!! I drive back to town that evening and it`s gone.If I only had the money I`m used to having! That was such a no-brainer it ain`t funny.Somebody got a nice`Burb for a great price!!!!DANG!

Re: Gimme A Bullet!

Things like that only come around when I'm broke. If I have cash, there's nothing around, or it costs twice as much as I have.

Re: Gimme A Bullet!

I never find deals like that --- thats too bad . The hands of fate and the current recession has kept a few of us from having the same level of disposable income handy now --- bummer

I always pay a mediocre price for something (and often i accidentally pay too much)

Re: Gimme A Bullet!

Me either. Deals like that are like old story's you tell around camp fires.
That on of those "right place, right time" deals. That never happens for me either.

Good luck man,,, Wish something like that would happen here..
