New Pics... new stuff to work on (seats!)
Here's some pics of the truck after getting a set of chrome smoothies from a fellow member (thx Soba!!), and trading the buckets out of my truck for the bench out from a local guy's '60.
First the new kicks, and a peek at new the exhaust dumping under the step (yes... the oil pan leaks, it's on my to-do list): One with my rocket sled reflected... When I get my basement finished, I'll finally install the 3/5 drop suspension that I have in boxes. I figure the truck will look about right. I'm also ISO decent chrome bumpers. Something's missing here! Old Busted... really not in bad shape, just due for a rebuild: Hint of what's to come - new custom cover from www.automotiveinteriors.com I plan on stripping the seat frame down, repainting it, re-doing the foam and all so that the seat feels brand new. I need to get three seatbelts, if I can find a matching red. Black is my second choice. The truck currently has FORD seatbelts, what the heck? I'm also going to finish what I started when I began applying sound deadening sheets to the inside of the cab. Plus, the dash needs attention, but that'll be a later project.

I'm digging the red with white cap and the chrome reverse and baby moons. I also like the stock stance. I can't wait to see the finished product...keep up the good work.

Thx for the reply. It'll be an occasional driver, but never perfect.

Red Trucks ROCK! - Yours Looks great.

DANG!!!!!!! that looks great. I agree with you, Chrome bumpers, get rid of that THING on the rear and replace it with a nice chrome bumper, maybe a grille... Looks great... I too dig the barbed wire stripe....
I personally like the stock stance... But it's your truck.... Keep us posted on the progress... |

Re: New Pics... new stuff to work on (seats!)
You'll have to speak with the 'boss,' the woman who lets me live in my house. She's got me finishing the basement (all 1900sf of it), and I'm elbow deep in electrical rough-in at the present... working down there until I can't hardly press the trigger of the screw gun. I could post some pics of that project, hahahaha. Two huge (23 x 13) bedrooms for my daughters, bathroom fit for princesses, game/exercise room and a home theater, complete with fiber optic lighting fx, movie theater seats and 100" screen (1000w sub too, muhahaha). After that's far enough along (a drywall crew would give me a week of free-time in late July I think), I can tackle pampering the truck a bit more.
The seat sits on the floor of the garage, with the boxes of goodies on top of it.

Re: New Pics... new stuff to work on (seats!)
So I finally got some time tonight, and since it was such a pleasant evening I had Mrs. Javadoc help me rebuild the bench and install the new upholstery. Here's a pic of how it turned out. I still need to tighten up the sides of the bottom cushion (it was getting too dark outside), but I think that it turned out good. I beefed up the seat bottom's padding a bit, so it's extra cushy now.
It'll get installed tomorrow, along with the new clutch linkage. I have blisters on almost all of my knuckles though, from pulling and stretching the vinyl so that I could get it all tight. Ouch!!
