Anybody else do models?
Not like that, you pervs. Like plastic. Got this in the mail tonight. It's the eBay pic, I left my cam at my parents last weekend, so I can't take an actual picture of it.
I haven't built a model in years, but I'm pretty stoked about this one. Gonna do it up as close to my truck as possible. Has anybody else built a model of these years? How bout some pics. Someday I might grow up.

I'm on and off on my models. Never done a 67-72, but I'm working on a resin version of my '56 panel truck

Re: Anybody else do models?
Wow grimss, looks like you got some time and money in that one. Hey semper, just do a search on fleabay for 1972 GMC. there's usually a few on there. I know they made a chevy version, too. I had one when I was younger, but I'm pretty sure it was a longbox.

On a side note, look around and be patient. I got a decent deal on mine. Around $20 shipped. I've been waiting for a while.

Re: Anybody else do models?
diesel where'd you get it, Ebay? That's exactly the kind I want just like that I mean of course a 69 would be preferred but that would do too. I used to get pretty into them...all the bolts silver...block hugger orange...would paint the valve covers chrome and headers as well...but lately being married and deploying kind of kills it

I have these for sale. Not cheap. But real hard to find. Pm me if interested.
The Californian was designed by Harry Bradley. He designed our 67-72 trucks.

Re: Anybody else do models?
I have about a dozen still in the box. Saving them for the retirement days and when my body will no longer let me work on the full size versions. Then while I am building them I can dream I am working on the real deal from days gone by.

Re: Anybody else do models?
fine69 - that's impressive.
I have done about a dozen of these, and purchased several built ones from ebay to redo. I've started customizing them. I built a dually bed from a fleetside model kit and a stepside model kit. I try to buy at least 2 of each, and leave one closed. I have 5 of the same of fine69's collection. My next attempt will be a crew cab. I have bought 8 of the latest fleetside kits to use as parts and experiment.. Just take your time and don't use to much glue. paint patiently. I like to make models of the vehicles I've had and will have. |
