Everyone who cut their dash (like me), now wishes they would have waited. Oh well.. Patch panel time when she gets new paint!

That is a sweet unit.

This is good for those with no radio and an uncut dash.I`m going with converting a stock radio with the same capabilities.

Re: New Truck Radio's in Jegs

heck of a lot cheaper than the custom autosound radios. All these options would cost 3 or 4 hundred in those. I remember when you could get these at Walmart for $25.

Re: New Truck Radio's in Jegs

I have been looking at these for a month or so now. But due to other necessary parts (trans, driveshaft, brakes, radiator) I have to wait till Christmas and hope Santa brings it LOL

if you want to play CDs, then you're in it for $400 bucks before you get out the door.
Just so no one thinks this is a cost effective way of listeneing to tunes.

I don't know that I would necessarily use their CD changer anyhow. There are plenty of high end ones on the market from very reputable companies.
But you are right. Cutting the dash is cheaper - but if you want to leave it alone...

Re: New Truck Radio's in Jegs

Mounts off the knob posts perhaps? That's how a lot of the older ones do it.

Re: New Truck Radio's in Jegs

If the radio is fairly light in weight, like most of the new elctronic radios, and if you can actually do it, the dash metal should hold in place.

However, the older style heavier radios had a bracket towards the rear that held it in place. I've installed my old style radio both ways -with and without the bracket -and it held pretty well.

If you do not have a set of quality speakers, it will not sound good at all. This goes for EVERY radio.
