??? about 67 PB brackets

1st Question--> Is the 67 power brake brakets the same as the 68 power brake brakets.

2nd Question--> I want to install a 1972 brake booster, 72 booster bracket, a 77 corvette master cylinder and a automatic 1972 brake pedal assembly into a 68 Chevrolet C-10 truck.

3rd Question--> Will the 72 booster braket and 72 automatic brake assembly work on the the 68 firewall,,,,,, or do I need the 68 booster bracket assembly and a 68 automatic brake pedal assembly for the interior....

It's gettin' late here so my brain might not work too good but let me give this a shot. If I'm wrong on any of this someone will let us know....

1. All of the power brake brackets are the same for our trucks.

2. Shouldn't be a problem except I can't tell you about the Corvette master cyl.
I'm not sure why you want to change the pedal assembly. If it has a clutch
pedal that you don't need just remove it.

3. The 72 parts should bolt right up to the firewall... Inside & out.

The 67 power booster brackets are different as they are 3 5/8" from firewall to booster compared to 5 5/8"
for the later years. I am not sure when they changed to the longer style.

Thanks for the correction, Jim. That means that the rod from the booster to the brake pedal would be shorter also. I wonder if the shorter '67 bracket would work on the '72 booster, if the '67 booster to brake pedal rod were used.

Actually the push rod to the pedal is the same length. The 2" difference is in the push rod going into the booster
which is shorter. The brackets will bolt up to the 72 booster but the push rod issue could be a problem.

Thank you for the responses,,, I have a complete setup from a 72 C-10 which is just sitting in my garage. I would like to install it on my 68 truck the interior automatic brake pedal and power booster with brakets for under the hood... Changing it because I have it in hand and the clutch pedal assembly could be sold later with the entire manual trans and column as a complete setup.....

Let me tell you what I found out. When adding power brakes to my '67 2500, I wanted to use the orginal dual diaphragm Bendix booster which is correct for 3/4 and 1 ton '67-'70 drum-drum trucks. I had a set of brackets and linkage for a '71 C-10, and the brackets would not work. The mounting studs on the dual Bendix booster were too far apart. Also, the push rod on the '71 and '72 disc-drum booster is too short to operate a stock '67-'70 master cylinder. Everything was fine when I got the right parts!
