Moved to 4X4, you will get more response here.
To answer your question, yes. You just need the right ones for your application. Yours are probably the "big" 6 bolt hubs? Last edited by LONGHAIR; 06-13-2008 at 09:28 AM. |

A quick bump for ya...
I'm pretty sure you can just unbolt the old hubs and bolt the new ones on.

Re: swapping 4X4 hubs to spicer or warn?
Warn makes hubs for EVERY application possible. Go to a reputable parts store. Mine for the '81 cost me $75 and I installed them with a hex key, a Crescent wrench and a screwdriver in 20 below weather sitting in the snow. Took me about 2 hours for the first side (that spring clip was a PITA) and about 20 minutes for the other side.

haha... yeah those spring clips are a B!@#$ especially if they've been there for awhile. I got a real nice set of WARN's and love em... real easy install.

Re: swapping 4X4 hubs to spicer or warn?
Doesn't a '68 3/4 ton truck have the "big" bolt-on hubs?...not the slide-ins with the big outer ring?

Re: swapping 4X4 hubs to spicer or warn?
Almost 30 years ago I needed hubs for a truck and bought Husky Selectro units from Bob Chandler. They were built strong. I believe Husky was bought out by MileMarker some years back, but they still offer the "Selectro Series" hubs.

I live about 15 miles from the 4x4 store Bob Chandler used to own.

Re: swapping 4X4 hubs to spicer or warn?
Spicer....Warn is an aftermarket unit.
Spicer started as a u-joint manifacturer. A guy with the last name Dana joined the company in it's early years. He eventually became president. They later got into making the entire axle assembly. "Dana" axles used "Spicer" components. Warn is winch company that expanded into other off-road stuff. Warn hubs are good, but not original to the truck.
