Never used them but I know of some that look MUCH better for just a tad more money. They also keep the vents I'll get a link and post it here.

Re: Kick Panel Speakers

The truck shop has kick panel without the speaker in them for 69.00. This way you can put what you want in there. I am getting 2 sets. One set for each truck.

Re: Kick Panel Speakers

No Problem. I looked for a long time for those kick panels. I didnt want to pay 130.00 to 140.00 for them with some cheap speaker in it. I figured 69.00 plus maybe 80.00 for a good set of speakers...I would come out ahead. Better then 130.00 plus 80.00 and end up tossing the cheap speakers.

159.00. I think 179.00 with Pioneer speakers...and then your only getting 2 way speakers.

Re: Kick Panel Speakers

I have a set from custom auto sound. I think they sound good, but not a lot of bass. It took me about an hour or two to install them. I have been accused of getting carried away ( ask my wife ) , But I trimmed a litle bit, and I guess they would have just popped in. I fiddled around for a bit, and ended up putting a couple of nice stainless screws into them to make sure they will be in place and not rattle. Before I installed them for the last time I had decided on where the screws were going, and made a spacer that I glued behind the kick panel, so when I tightened the screws it would not crush the panel. NOW for me, I am thinking I am going to try and move the gas tank over to the right side of the truck a little and see if I can get to 6x9 or some small subs into the cavity where the jack should go and the same location on the drivers side. I am not going to let my 16 yr old have the only car in the driveway with a little thump!! I left them black fro now, but I might have them dyed to the interior color. Have not decided

Re: Kick Panel Speakers

that's awesome cparman I like the idea of a lil sub or a 6x9 that sounds pretty sick. now i'm excited to buy me a set and get them put in that's going to be bad ass cause i think i'm going couple it with that custom auto sound head unit for our trucks that fits the stock radio hole but has the ipod connection and what not

Re: Kick Panel Speakers

I have the LMC kick panels in my 72'. The speakers are garbage that come with it. It would be worth the money to either upgrade the order, or just go out and buy some better aftermarkets. I can't get over how crappy the ones that came with mine sound. This is probably because of my background with audio equipment though. The panels mount nicely with just a few screws, easy to take off and put back on.

Re: Kick Panel Speakers

thanks monkeypunk but i think i'll stick with the empty enclosures then buy mine own speakers vs buying a more expensive set that has craptastic speakers in it just to ditch them and buy new anyway...thanks everyone for the help
