It was a month after my son was born, now we want to build the truck together, last night we stayed in the shop till 12:30 disasembling the frame and getting ready for sandblasting today.
Hope the pic. come out OK.

lookin good.. hehe, looks like I'm not the only clarke blaster user.. that a pressurized tank? we juts got one.. replaced our old craftsman siphon feed. it kicks up quite a cloud.. but tears off rust and grime like it wasn't even there.

blasting is the way to go..gonna powder coat?

btw its great to see a father son project like that.. its sort of what my father and I are doing. We would have done something like this a lot earlier.. but my dad nevere really had time.. I tihnk he enjoys it even more than I do sometimes.. onna those quality time type things

keep up the good work! btw 67-68 front ends rule

Cool project! 68's rock!

My 8-year-old boy removed the 4 front bolts of my passenger side "camel-back" tonight after I cracked em. He (And I) had a blast. He's a great helper and picks up on things up quickly.

I thought I was the only one that did this stuff in my driveway. Sandblasted the cab (inside and out) yesterday. There is nothing like removing all the old cancer and having clean metal to start with.

I second the thought on the respirator. Free silica (from sandblasting) causes silcosis of the lungs. I use my paint repirator with old filters, just to keep the fine dust out.

My 12 year old has been helping some. He wants to do one for himself after this one...he'll have to help more on that one!

btw, that sign.. about the chevy truck parking only.. love that! too bad my truck doesn't really have a garage spot.. it kinda shares the shop with the chevelle.. otherwise I'd have a sign like that somewhere hehe

I have a "premeium" sandblasting facemask from eastwood for my blasting.. it does down to your shoulders. Works real well.. pretty much when I'm blasting I either breathe through my nose, or try to breathe really slow so as not to get dust and stuff in my lungs. holding your breath makes you stop too much.. so thats usually not my preference hehe.

I do all my blasting outside the garage by the shop bay. plenty of room.. we keep the door closed so as not to get any more dust on the frame than there already is.

Wink

Guy's thanks for the concern with the resperator,I'm using a dust mask and with a 10gal. tank you dont blast long till you have to refill the tank.lol
Looking into getting some powder coating real soon, should I go gloss black or simi gloss?
I think I'm going gloss black on everything except the springs and the spindles and a couple other little things, remember it's just gonna be a daily driver.LOL yeah right!!!
