So what did you name your Truck & Why...

Back in the day my family has named our rides.
Example our 1963 Buick Skylark - Beula & our 1970 Monte Carlo - Monty
My 63 Caddy - Series 62 - Suzie Q
My Crew Cab - not sure yet - it black / white - crewella, USS RUST-EZE - nah!

While i'm still tryin to decide, what did you name your truck & why?

My truck has been "Ol' Blue" for 30 years.

Real original, huh.

Soon it will be "The New Ol' Blue"!

Re: So what did you name your Truck & Why...

Well, lets see...

I named it the "Rock-a-Billy" I guess because of the ratty look and the ww walls...

But it is also known as the "Chief" short for "ChiefRock-a-Billy", I'm assuming.

My kids refer to it as the "Rock-a-billy" or in my little girls case, she prenounces it is the "Roc-a-biwwy"

The wife refers to it as embarrassing, or AKA "piece of crap"

Re: So what did you name your Truck & Why...

Well not not exactly a chix name, but I always refer to a car as a "she"

I mean, if your around your buddies and your talking about a nice rear-axle in say a Nova, Camaro or something.....

It wouldn't sound cool if you say "Man, HE'S got a nice rear-end back there!!"

You feel me ??

Later !!

Mine is usually referred to as "POS"(normally with a few other unkind adjectives preceding it) especially when something isn't working right).

Seriously, though, my blue '66 is usually referred to as the "Oklahoma Truck" by my little boy because that is where I bought it. The '64 is normally called "the 64". The most recent '64 has been referred to as "the drag truck" a couple of times b/c when I pulled it home the rearend locked up and I had to literally drag it on into the yard.

The burban is the burban depending on if I am fixing rust or driving. So far its only name has been !@#$$#$%#@$%^&*()*&^^%&(muthaf&**&%%^*&(&*^%&fringinpeiceof(&^&%&^$^^$^^%%&!###@#!#$#!. But the more rust that comes out, the more respect we gain for each other.

My '63 is "Ugly Betsy". My mom had the same truck when I was littlr. She called it "Betsy". 40 years later I have one too. Between that and the show "Ugly Betty" a named was born. Born from inner beauty and memories.

I call mine El Cheepo, I got it for cheep, most of the parts have been picked up for cheep, and it has a cheep Earl Schieb paint job.
All in all a low budget build. Even though I call it "El" I stii think of it as a HER. My wife calls her La Sancha spanish for the "other women"

Re: So what did you name your Truck & Why...

our '66 is called Pa-paw's truck. it was my father-in-law's truck. he built it from 3 or 4 different trucks. He passed October 2006 and we inherited it. it has lots of sentimental value, and it won't matter if times get tough, we will never sell it, plan on passing it to our boys.
