Had a 67 Short wheel base a few years ago.
Very fun. They steer sort of wierd. Since you are in effect sitting over the front wheel. Took some getting used to. I will have another one day.

Hmmm, 5-lugger. Is it a straight axle or a-arm setup in the front?

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
My buddy had a cargo one in the 70's.IIRC most came with a 6 cyl/3 speed. They do steer a little funny at first but his was very dependable.I'm just glad it couldn't talk but it doesn't matter now. That statute of limitations thing,ya know.

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
Awesome pictures. Didn't these use basically a 1/2 ton truck frame underneath? Would be cool to have one......someday!

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
I don't think so. Most of the early ones have straight front axles IIRC.

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
One thing I do remember about them is that the door on the side was optional. You could get it or not or BOTH ,one to a side.Very few were equipted with both sides.IIRC it was only available on the cargo models and I've only seen one.It was from that owner that I heard they were available on both sides.I wonder if he was yanking my chain?

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
James,
your right. they only came with a straight, leaf sprung front end. I remember the janitorial service truck in my elementary school had one. thought they were "weird" then, but now I kind of dig them now.

I had a '66 in high school. Wasn't cool enough then. Wish I had it now.

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
Rare and cool, but I have to say if I didn't see this thread and I saw one of those I would think it was a Chrysler product, something about the grille just doesn't look Chevy to me... I know I am showing my lack of van knowledge but hey vans were cool before I was into trucks and cars!

Re: 67 Chevy Van for Sale--Anyone know anything about these?
Sorry this is a little off subject but I see it used a couple times in this thread. What does "IIRC" stand for?

Each time I see IIRC my brain says "IROC", and then I have to correct it...
