Exclamation Bennefits of leafspring suspension v.s. coil spring suspension

I am contemplating changing out the frame of my 1971 Chevy C10 truck from 2WD coil suspension to a 4wd frame with leafsprings front and rear. The reason is because I really need to have 4wd for the winter months and I'd also like for my truck to have larger tires and be lifted (4WD frame needed). I wanted to know any other bennefits that I might not be aware of and also if there any drawbacks or problems that I should look out for. Thank you for your feedback.

Other than what some have said about coils being smoother, you shouldn't have any problems there.

The advantage of leaf springs, as you know, is being able to easily lift the height. Disadvantage is trying to lower more than a couple of inches.

Being that you are talking about 4X4 stuff, I can't imagine any advantages of the coil, that would be worth anything on a 4X4.
