Went to the tire shop today, needed a couple of rally's for my truck. As some of you know I just finished it. I did all the work myself, from frame off to paint. Now it aint special or professional, there is orange peel and body work is less than perfect, but I did it and am kinda proud of the fact that I did it all myself. Anyway The owners kid at the tire shop helped me, had about 6 sets of rally there, bought 2 wheels and he was bringing them over to my truck. Asked if I wanted them in the back, said yea I would mount them when I got the tires I needed. He tossd them into the bed and then said " I hope the guy who painted this is out of business, it looks like S**T."

I told him I was the one who painted it and yeah it wasn't professional, but it works for me. It got my temper flaring a little. He just walked inside and I paid for the wheels and left. What really gets me is the kid drives around a 56 chevy that is rattle canned with 3 different colors and looks bad, but nobody ever says anything about it out of politeness. I don't know I guess I was just in a bad mood and tired, and shouldn't really care, but it made me mad. Critisism is fine and I expect it, I guess that just took my by surprise.

Well I feel a little better now that I got that off my chest.

I would told him that it looks better than the POS he was driving along with all kinds of other explicitives and adjectives. Cool-headedness is not my best virtue, especially when someone is ragging on something that I worked and paid for.

I would have taken the wheels out of the back and dropped them on the ground and told the little bastard his smart ass mouth just lost them a customer. I am sure there has to be another tire shop around that has some decent customer service.

I'm with drunkbus there isn't any way I'd buy from someone that insulted me. I once had a two year old truck I was trying to sell and this lady opened the door and looked in the ash tray and said you smoked in here. I said yea and you arn't buying it so see ya.

I should have just left the wheels, but at the moment all I could think of was not stomping on his head. Little guys like him just piss me off. I went back to our shop a little while ago, and my boss asked why I looked pissed, so I told him the deal, he kinda laughed and said we won't be giving them anymore of our business. Apparently this is not the 1st time the kid has run his mouth, he talked trash about my boss's numbers matching original paint 69 camaro awhile back. Kinda made me feel better.

I'd take the wheels back tomorrow and get a refund.

When asked why I wanted to return them, I'd quietly and politely explain exactly why & I'd also tell them that they'll never see me in their store again.

I'm with the guy that said leave them and go else where except I would have made HIM carry them back in to "daddy" and explain why he lost a sale.

I hate to say it but I teach middle school, and MOST of them (teens) are like that. A whole generation of disrepectful/rude kids. One of my pet peeves is when/IF I give anything out (candy, pencils...) and the kid complains about it

...that really ticks me off. I usually take it back and move on to the next kid.

I had a girlfreind a veiw years back go to a tire store(TirePros) and wanted new tires. She came home and said that they said she needed new wheels that they were all bent. She ordered new wheels while there, (She had no clue) I took the car back and had them put all wheels on balancer for me and only one was slightly bent. Made them take back the wheel order. and put the tires on the car with the slightly bent wheel in the back. I will never go back there or reccomend any friends there.

It's unfortunate, but what Brock says is true. It will all come around in the end though. Thing is, they won't realize it until they lose something that is really important to them, like a girl/wife or huge sums of cash.
I would mention it to daddy in a polite way just to see his reaction. If it is a negative or insincere one, I would spread the word among friends.

Whatever you do keep your truck the way it is.If he comments again,just tell him you are waiting for him to paint his so you can compare.If he has it painted you can laugh because he didn't do it himself and if he does you can laugh because he learned the hard way he is not as talented as you.

Is there 2 or three tire shops in Wendel let me know witch one and I will not go there. I had to buy a spare in that town one time might have to do it again (I pass threw going to Pine to hunt, had a blow out).Been wanting to get over and see your truck.You busy this weekend?
