Wicked score!
Went to LKQ salvage yard this weekend and they were having a sale on seats...any seat $9.99. Seeing as i just bought a bench seat 3 weeks ago i didn't think much of it other than DAMN shoulda waited. Then I came across a c-10 with shaved door handles and tailgate....looked inside and it had a 40-20-40 split bench, with storage under the middle seat, and a fold down back with arm rests cup holders and more storage. The seat had one rip in the drivers side about 3 inches long, otherwise mint condition. So i go to pull it out and someone already pulled all the bolts, all i had to do was toss it in the wheel barrel! Custom made brackets and all. I also found a set of diamond plate bed rail protectors. Left the yard with everything for $30!
I know whats coming...lets see the pictures, well it is pouring rain outside and i haven't taken any yet. But once the sky clears i will post them right away.

Re: Wicked score!
Dang man thats a nice score, especially for the amount of work you put into it! I was at a yard one time and unbolted a nice condition 67-72 style console and thought I would just leave it there while I looked around a bit more...I came back and it was gone! You can bet someone is wishing they had taken those seats.
I wish my local yard would do those kinds of sales. All we ever get out of them is free admission every so often.

Re: Wicked score!
Man, they are nice, they really hold you in place...no more sliding across the seat while getting on the highway.
I took the cup holder and storage box off the top for cleaning and painting. Bowtie, I did feel a little guilty...but then I remembered fighting with a bed I wanted for over 2 hours only to strip the last carriage bolt...came back the next day with a sawzall and it was gone. Hopefully it was the guy that took my bed. Now I have to see if i can return the bench seat I bought 3 weeks ago for $35...even if i can't I'm happy to have the seat for $44.99 ($9.99 + 35). (man do i need to get some speaker covers...fabric duct taped to cardboard, my temporary solution, just isn't cutting it 4 months later)

Re: Wicked score!
Throw the other seat in the yard outside, gives a place to take a short break while doing yard work. That's what hicks like me do.

Re: Wicked score!
the rail caps don't have stake holes....but that can be fixed.
I have the bench seat set up in the garage as a couch. Has already gotten quite a bit of use, beats the hell out of sitting on the old speaker box.
