Sorry for askin again, ignition removal?

Hey guys, i know we've discrussed this many times, but i cant find the threads anymore, i scrolled all that were still alive and searched and couldnt find them. How exactly do i remove the ignition cylinder from the gauge bezel so i can remove the whole thing from the truck? Thanks....o, its on a 66...not that thats needed but....

Put the key in and turn it all the way to the left (accessory position). Then take a paper clip and insert it into the hole and push the pin down. While doing this, take your third hand and turn the key further to the left. The lock cylinder should come right out and then you can unscrew the outside ring.

ok thanks man, appreciate it, also, for the headlight switch, i know u push the button on the underside to get the knob to come out, but what position does the light switch need to be in for that knob to come all the way out, it wont seem to do it for me...

Yea finally got the stupid thing out, actually it was in the on position, hmm...o well, except now i cant get the retainer ring that holds it in to loosen, i dont know what to use...can get it with anything i have, im gonna have to like grind it off or somethin, unless there is some way that i can get the entire cluster out without removing the switch?

i use an extremely large flat screwdriver, or flat tipped prybar

Yea the sad thing is ive tried those, and nothing, idk who put it in there, but they somehow tightened it really tight or got it jammed..idk...
