Re: aftermarket tranny
The newest Cadillac Escalade has a 6 speed auto in it, and in a year or two it will be available in trucks. That's probably your best bet.

Re: aftermarket tranny
Yeah they're only $2000 to $3000, I think I'd find another way.

Re: aftermarket tranny
Yes, Gear Vendors charges huge premiums for these. They are based on the british Laycock brand overdrive, many of which came on Volvos behind 4 speed manual transmissions. All Gear Vendors did is buy the production rights, strengthen it, then build adapters for different transmissions.
Now you would think you could grab one of these Volvo units and get an adapters from Gear Vendors right ? Nope. They won't even talk to you until you produce a valid Gear Vendors serial number, and if you get that far, you MUST exchange the adapter that originally came with the unit. I do like the concept of keeping the strength and simplicity of my Turbo 350 and having a rock solid overdrive to go behind it, but the cost is just ridiculous.

Re: aftermarket tranny
Thats what it costs for any new overdrive tranny that can handle some H/p and torque. Who said Quality parts where cheap. It cost me about that to get a quality manual O/D tranny for my Burb.
