Serpentine System

All you guys who used the serpentine system off 88-98 trucks what was involved? I am going to part out an '89K2500 with a 350 and want to take as much as can use before I scrap the thing. Maybe the power steering will work but doubtful, maybe the steering column, seats for sure, etc. I was wondering about that serpentine system for a while I don't know if I have enough holes in my block (350 block from the 70's)

Re: Serpentine System

if you have a 350 from the 70's then you have enough holes in the front of your block. The steering column is hard to get to work since the high beam switch in on there. I tried and didn't like the fit. You should be able to use the seats with no problems. You will just have to drill some mounting holes. If it is a 4x4 you might be able to use the box but not the pitman arm. I can't remember how they looked. If you use the serpentine system, make sure you take everything, even the bolts, and label them..

Re: Serpentine System

Yep because the aftermarket places to get the serp setups are expensive, and bolts are hard to come by if you dont have a you pull yard around.

Re: Serpentine System

One thing you definitely need with a serpentine system is a reverse rotation water pump. Otherwise your engine will overheat. The one from the '89 should work, just make sure it has the heater hose connections you need. Or at least a plug where you can put a hose nipple.
