Re: to repair or not.

take your rad to a shop and get a quote. It would be kinda retarded to replace it if it only has $50 of damage.

Re: to repair or not.

Normally i would do that, but i would have to drive 100 miles round trip just to take it out to get a quote. Not to mention if they cant do it while i wait. But im thinking that would be the best thing to do anyway.

Re: to repair or not.

I bought a couple of nice new four core radiators from a board member. Im sorry I cant remember his name (lotta good this is lol) Ill keep looking. He had em shipped right to my door and they were a very good price. Longhorn man has one of em in his the burb he purchased from me.

Ok I found him...sorry 67 cst swb that I misplaced your name. Give 67 cst swb a PM maybe he can hook you up with a good deal.

It would depend on what you would be driving to do the quote/repair estimate. If you drive a gas guzzler, it's going to cost you approx a fillup there and back.

But, first, I'd give this shop a call to see if they carry any replacement parts in case yours is totally gone. Then ask if they could do it in one day. Some years back, I had a local repair shop convert my 2 core to 3 core all in one day for around $80. They stocked replacement cores.

Re: to repair or not.

Unless you're a tourist in Branson, you do have a round trip to somewhere to get just about anything..

I bought an aftermarket 4-row core radiator for my truck for about $130, several years ago. When I was trying to get the transmission cooler lines connected, I got one of them gill-flirted and used an aftermarket transmission oil cooler. Mounted it in front of the A/C condenser.

Last 4-row core re-core I had done (the only one, too) cost me $150.

I still have the 4-row core (Originial radiator) that I pulled out to install the new one.
