Please help with mystery wire's
Hello and thanks again guys I was cleaning up my wireing under the hood and I found these wires all taped up? What are they to? & what were they for should they be hooked up to something or can I just trash them the truck was running fine without them I am just curious I am trying to get the wireing all celeaned up thanks guys! Only one wire seems to be linked directly to the main wire harness I think it is brown Does this have power should I keep it from grounding out? (Forgot to mention this truck was originaly a 6cyl, NOW a BigBLock) l!!! Thanks

Re: Please help with mystery wire's
it is most likely a very primitive smog control item. (can't remember what it's called) It's most likely bypassed already. I'd just rip it all out personally.
Actually, i just did do this on the burb. Ripped it out and tossed it in the trash. What it does, it prevents any vac advance from coming in unless you are in top gear, and the engine is already warmed up. |

huh? Not smog?
Emissions controls started on light duty pick ups in 69. Part of that was the system that he is asking about. |
