1951 chevy/gmc 16" truck rims fit what other years?
1951 chevy/gmc 16" truck rims: how many years were they the same on chevy trucks? Also were the same rims used on autos? What other years do they fit besides 1951?

Re: 1951 chevy/gmc 16" truck rims fit what other years?
They might bolt on trucks from the twenties or at least the mid 30's up to 1970 two wheel drive trucks if the center will fit the hub.
Also passenger cars up to 48 had the same bolt pattern. Somewhere in the early 50's they started offering 15 inch wheels but still sold the 16 inchers if the buyer wanted them. The 15's came along about the time tubeless tires got going big while the 16's still took tubes. |

Re: 1951 chevy/gmc 16" truck rims fit what other years?
hi
thankyou for the reply. the rim was on a 51 chevy truck, (may or may not be original to the truck). It measures 17.5" diameter and has a 5.5" width and the center is 3 5/8". It had a 6.00 x 16 tire on it. It has 3 attaching brackets to hold the hub cap. With this additional information can someone more accurately identify what year range cars and what year range truck it will fit? thankyou, Jerry Whitfield, Winston Salem, N.Carolina |
