Crappy Co-worker.

So today at work one of my Co-workers (I am actually his boss) started commenting on my Blazer, then he tells me I should sell it to him. I tell him I really am not planning on selling it, and that there are some things wrong with it that need fixing, mainly the ignition is on its last legs.

Well, he pushes the issue just having to know how much I would have to have for it, so I spit out a number, 15,000.00, he laughed says, "Fifteen grand! hell I will give you fifteen hundred." my response to which was "I tell you what we will do, you go run to the bank, take out how much you think it is worth, come back here and start counting money off into my hand, when you get done I will decide weather you bought a truck and title or ride home..."

He didn't say anything and walked out. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot over.

It takes an educated buyer to know the worth of any classic piece or antique. That guy`s obviously ignorant and doesn`t know it (because he`s ignorant).

Thanks, I am a little pissed with it right now, but most of what is wrong with it is due to neglect on my part, not it being a bad truck...

Re: Crappy Co-worker.

I'm surprised to see a nice truck in Corpus, looks great. My blazer isn't worth near as much but i've had similar things occur. One guy wanted to buy mine and I had just got done doing a motor swap so I spit out the number 5000, and he laughed saying he'd give me 500. I wanted to beat the hell out of him.

Re: Crappy Co-worker.

Some people come up thinking that old means not worth much.Their mom`s and dad`s throw away everything as soon as there`s a newer/improved version. They don`t realize that because of this, the things that survive are always worth more.If they are in nice condition, even more.If a good sized group of people catch on to a particular item and want it,then the price really takes off...Sure has, hasn`t it?

Well not only that but IMO the body on a 67-72 is by far superior in quality to any truck you can buy that has been made in the last 18 years. They are stout, they are solid, and they are incredibly good looking. I know my C/30 has over 700,000 miles on it for sure, and it isn't anywhere close to the end of it service life.

Re: Crappy Co-worker.

Remember when you could pick up a late 60's early 70's Camaro for under $5K? Now you can get a rusted body and straight frame for $3K! People are stupid (in general) when it comes to cars all together. My neighbor was amazed that I drove my truck from Florida all the way to Northern VA. "That rickety old thing shouldn't have made it past Georgia." was his phrase.

Don't get rid of that beast. In my world when somebody who works for you wants to be a $mart A$$, he just volunteered himself for trash detail and some toilet cleaning.

Re: Crappy Co-worker.

A co-worker of mine did a similar thing to me... but he printed a paper that said "Jorges oil spotting service"
it was pretty funny I must admit... but when I grabbed a 2 inch strap and had it tied to my axle and tied to his F$%# 150 axle I called him out and said lets see whose truck is the last one standing .. he got scared and freaked out and said no no no what the Foxtrot are you doing ? And that was the end of the jokes.
I then told him go to am/pm and get a large cup of go "Foxtrot" yourself and have a great day !
