There are a ton of dually pics in the "Where are the 1 tons?" thread. Also many pics in the "Lets see some 73-87 work horses" thread.

I hadn't seen that one before. "Where are the 1 tons?" Seems like there are more 67-72 duallys in that thread than the square body ones. Haven't seen the other thread either.
Thanks |

This one belongs to a friend of mine. I may be buying it from him in December. 1976 Silverado, Camper Special, 454, Auto, and A/C. The only bummer part is he sold the original tailgate and put on a expanded metal or mesh replacement tailgate.

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!
hey guys heres my 87 454 it was a custom with wood grain everywhere and overhead console with lights and bucket seat like a conversion van, it also came with brush guard and running boards. i think they call em texas haulers or somthing like that but i think it looked a little south of the boarder especially that paint job. the second pic is after i got busy with the spray paint.

Second pic is definitely better.
Even though it may look like mine does up close(obvious rattle can primer job) it's still better! |

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!
My neighbor has an old Frito Lay truck with those same wheels on it. It is sitting about 50 feet from my house. He drives it around some but he mainly just stores stuff in it.
This is a little off topic but while searching for old 70's Chevy dually pictures I stumbled across the video below. This isn't a dually but a cool video of a 76 GMC 3/4 ton with a Detroit Diesel conversion, 4" straight exhaust, and a commercial transmission of some kind. |

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!
Just picked up this. It is a cobbled together piece. SRW D60, D70 Rear, 400/TH400/Np203, Electric Dump. I'm in the processes of installing a rebuilt 350 motor to replace the sick 400 (it's knocking).

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!
hey that truck looks tough, whats your plans for it besides the motor swap? are you gonna keep the plow? flat beds are practicale for work truck or you could run a fleet bed cuz you have the cab chassis narrowed rearand and its a 4x so the inner fenders wont rub. maybe keep the tilt feature that would be cool
saw this guys truck on dually scene i think hes in europe i like that two tone brown one too, looks better in the second pic without the bumper lights and bed box. |

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!
Yeh I'm going to keep the plow - it's pretty rough though, I've been looking for a cheap replacement for it.
I'm going to leave the flat bed on it, just make up some wooden sides. The dump is nice for "dump runs", junking, etc. etc. I'll post some updates as I work on it.
