Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
Does anyone know wherte I can get this weatherstrip for my 70 Blazer. My blazer was a plain custom without the inside trim. I am talking about the trim on both sides of the tailgate opening. Thanks. Don

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
You'll have to look for the metal trim part use. The rubber seal can be purchased from just about any vendor.
My truck has the trim/brackets on the floor and on both sides. The brackets on the side look like a foor bracket cut down to size and it appears to use two seals that meet in the middle and run along the bed floor and then up the sides.

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
Mine has a 1 piece rubber strip held in place by the 2 vertical metal strips and the rear carpet hold down.

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
Mine looks just like that. Painted strips on the side and chrome on the bed. I didn't realize they were different until I saw BobbyK's post. Come to think of it, the rubber might be one piece in mine as well. I've only seen the strips that go along the bottom of the bed for sale so I assumed mine was 2 pieces.
BobbyK, where did you get the replacement rubber?

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
I did not have the strips on the sides of the tail gate opening. I had the rubber strips that seem to be reinforced with metal inside of them and I do have the chrome bed floor strip but the rubber seems to be a single layer rubber piece glued to the bottom of it and reveal toward the tailgate. Any one seen that?

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
bigdon, my '71 Jimmy had those side strips like yours, at least remnants of them. I could never find replacments for those. I did not have the floor strip to start with. I ended up doing what BobbyK is showing in the pics. I wonder if the difference is bt. the CST on non-CST models?

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
Just out of curiosity, does anyone think that this would be possible to do on a pickup?
i've got a camper shell on the back of my truck, and would like to seal the back more. i was wondering how i could do it, but this looks like this would work, and it's a factory item. any thoughts?

Re: Weatherstrip inside the tailgate
The tailgate section is the same on the blazer as it is on the pickups so I don't see why it wouldn't work.
