Need Weaterstrip Advice - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Does anyone know if they make clip on door Weatherstrip for our Trucks, the type with the metal or clips inbeded in the rubber which grips on. I purchased replacement glue on ones a couple of mths ago and have to keep glueing them were they get brushed against getting in and out, and they are just generaly not secure enough.

there have been several guys who purchased mid 90's GM truck weather strip. this type of weather stripping has a metal insert that is mounted by pushing it on the body seam.

hopefully, others who have done this trick will chime in. I want to do this modification as well. the glue on type is a b^tch to install, or at least I think it is.....

Thanks Doug, glad someone else agrees it's just not ever secure enough and real messy, yes it's way past my bedtime mate 3.40am, working at home tomorow so no early start.

yep gm truck stuff works awesome. just push it on and its done. will be a SLAM YOUR DOOR fit for a long time but well worth it to me when i had my 71. one of the vendors on here sells it but not sure which one it was now. or you can go to the junk yard and steal it from a truck there.

you may try checking salvage yards as well for weather stripping as well.

you may find something off of a wrecked lorry! see, I've learned some British from my favorite show, Top Gear!!!

I love Top Gear too, but it does piss me off when Clarkson starts slaging off Amereican motors...this is the guy that bought a GT40 remember.

but it didn't start after the show he introduced it on because the anti-theft system fouled up...... but that's what you get for talking trash about Yank iron!!

poor Jeremy. If I had his money, I'd keep the race prepped, carbon fibered Aston Martin they had on the show a few weeks back. "The Stig" made it around the track the fastest of any car tested. beautiful and fast!!!

Just been contacted by Wes at Classic Heartbeat, and he says that he has the clip on Weater Strip.

Many here have used the 83-92' S-10 trucks/Blazer weatherstripping! It's cheap at the junkyard and very high quality too!
