I pulled the motor off my air compressor, it just didnt turn back on one day. Also charged the battery on the 76 since it hasnt been moving much.

Been feeling like warmed over reheated dog stool the last few days, cant wait till it goes away whatever it is. Its keeping me from getting anything done.

I took the interior out of my truck and started removing the trim parts. I will be sending the truck out for paint next week.

I pulled the engine out of the 80.Tore down the top end and found a badly grenaded cam, which made me decide to flip it over and pull a main cap....Time to start over.I took it into the machine shop and had a good talk with the crew there to make sure I get what I want this time.

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

Cleaned the truck, lol! I know it doesn't seem like much but the truck had nearly a year without getting washed (It's been parked that long) Anyway that took most of the day yesterday. It went well, had a guy from the neighborhood stop by when I was washing it. Planning on swappping out his Mexican 350/700 setup for a 5.3/4l60e and offered to sell me the current setup. Also gave me the front support for a suburban front end. Should've taken a before pic:

So it's all looking like my truck will be back to the condition I bough it in 6yrs ago

I didn't think the other one looked too bad. Did it have flintstone floors or something?

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

Spent Friday getting ready for tropical storm Hanna. Since Hanna made it rain most of the day Saturday, I was able to spend all day in the garage. Figured it was a good time to re-do the exhaust on my S-10. Never liked the routing since day one with the V-8. This time I extended the shorty headers to more resemble full-length headers. Now I can change collector gaskets without cussing and scaring small children. Then ran new pipe (bought some 90, 45 degree pieces and 6 foot of straight section) and replaced the Magnaflow mufflers, went back to Flowmasters. I swear the Magna’s got louder every time I started the truck.

Also cut the transmission cross member and added a “hoop” to the driver’s side. Now my driver sides exhaust goes further back before crossing over to the passenger side (gas tank is on the driver’s side).

Now I’m sure the Old Heap will be upset in the morning, didn’t touch or drive her all weekend.

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

Saturday I washed the daily drivers, then ran to Home Depot, Leslie's Pool Supply, and Lonestar Bicycle. I brought home enough supplies at from each stop to keep me busy all weekend.

I had my pool cleaner rebuilt, so I put it back in action. I played with the water chemistry in the pool, then worked in my yard detailing my beds.

This morning I got up early and treated my lawn for Chinch bugs, worked in the sprinkler system, and cleaned out one section of my garage. I took a bunch of pictures of several items I will have in the parts forum soon.

I spent some time editing pics for my wife. She played photographer, I played editor- LINK

Cleaned up my brothers 83 step side so we could put it up for sale.

The rain held off long enough to get a few pics of my truck and to take it in for a safety check (failed on lower ball joints) sob :-(

They were Flintstone floors...and rockers...and cab corners. The PO did a half ass job on replacing them...so I thought I would just replace the cab. The new cab is in much better shape, but will require a little patching on the drivers floor and hinge area...but that is it. It is a Texas cab. The tan truck also will need bedsides or wheel arch patches as they are bondo too.

I got the truck stripped down (except seats) for the body shop this week to get the right side repaired and get the whole thing painted.

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

Thursday night we started our work for the weekend by pulling my buddy's 2001 silverado SWB in the garage for some work. We shaved on the rear fender lips to clear his wheels and tires, added a set of shackles to the flipped rear, and put a super 40 flowmaster on it in place of the stock muffler.

Here's the truck before the rear shackles:

I actually had big plans for the truck this weekend (was going to finish mounting my bumper, finish the colum cover, and get the front brake lines built... but thursday after workin on my buddy's truck, I got into a bit of an accident while playing around on the 4-wheeler... Needless to say, I haven't done anything really in the garage this weekend.

I did manage to snap a quick shot of my sister's suburban in the garage... it's an 07 4WD.

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

The truck (or as my wife calls it "the other woman") went downtown to the local sports bar and had a few smokes and a Blue Moon or two. I got off work a little early on Friday so I went home and washed the truck and rubbed a little wax on her before we headed out to the bar.

Im hoping next week to repack my front bearings and change the oil and rearend fluid.

Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic.

Thursday I helped my brother finish up the final touches on the STS Twin Kit on a Convertible Corvette. It made 525hp and 575lb/ft on the dyno at 10lbs of boost

Sunday I started working on the Y-pipe on my Jimmy.

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

I plaaned to finish priming her this weekend but my son had his first football practice and first baseball practice for his traveling team so Saturday was shot. Was sick all day Saturday and Sunday so what time I did have I was either in the bed or on the couch. Worked up enough energy to get the hood back on and paint the pass fender so I could drive it to work the next morning. Won't get to work on it again until next weekend. Got the headers and flowmasters in on Friday so I can get those put on soon and i also got the build sheet for my 350 done now I can start collecting parts. Go to the pick-a-parts next weekend to see what I can find for a donor 350.

Re: Another what did u get done? 09 06 08

Saturday put the roof on the new shed 20 minutes before the big downpour. A little more work and the mower can move, giving me another place for truck parts! Sunday, started tearing the brick facing off the house (going to go vinyl), did not even need tools! Then I replacd both batteries in the 87 diesel, started on the second try. Drove around the block, front calipers took turns locking up, rotors are warped, time for brakes! Went Monday and got a root canal (needed one for 2 years), then made salsa and watched more rain.

I still can't fix my windshield wiper problems. I have a new switch and a new motor that I bought and with both installed nothing works. Time to go to the mechanic (yikes!)

On the flip side, we did the annual trip down to Richmond for the race, only we didn't spend the night. We drove down, watched the race, and left afterward. Long trip and a long day!
