Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
Nice install Andrew!
I had to pass on a sweet deal by bguild due to lack of storage space, so my "truck" weekend is kind of uneventful. Now the wife and I had a garage sale this weekend, and made quite a bit of $$$ so there's a plus! And Ike didn't drop a ton of rain so that was a plus as well.

I'm finally getting my 68 C20 going after a front end swap from a 82. Got a big 1 1/4" sway bar and a new gearbox and power disc brakes. A world of difference even without aligning it yet. Also switched back to a SM465 4-speed from the PO's TH350 swap. I'm really happy with how it's turning out. It was originally a county truck till the previous owner bought it in the early 80's with 50k. Then he put 50k on it using it in his tree service bussiness. I'll try to get some pictures up. |

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I picked up some girls and went to town...
....on my school bus so they could play in a volleyball tournament. Didn't get to do anything with my truck. Still waiting for an opening in the "shop" so the firewall swap-out can be done. I've gone as far as I can go with what I know how to do. All of the work above looks good.

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I finally decided it was time to replace the solenoid so I don't have to keep smacking it to get the truck started. I used a new solenoid that my dad bought a long time ago for one of his projects, it was so old there was not a UPC code on the box.
Since I have a l6 I was able to do it easily without removing the starter. I got both rear brake lights working. I took the steering wheel off and tried to figure out why the turn signals were not working, the switch is broke in several places. I ran out of time and will have to tackle the turn signals another day. Danny

Recently converted from R12 to
134a. Adjusted the POA valve, installed a new front seal in the compressor, charged the system and it's blowing cold air!!

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
Helped with final prep on my cab before paint.
Installed a new Eaton Posi unit, gears, bearings, brakes and got it back on the ground. Filled a bunch of holes in the radiator support. Cleaned the garage, including my work benches. Yard work Wow I was busy this weekend!

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
Took the Edelbrock Performer carb off the shorty and swapped it with the AFB from my LWB. "Big Black" (LWB) still runs like a champ w/ the Edelbrock and the "Lemonator" (Shorty) still runs like sh!t with the AFB. At least now I know it is probably something to do with the ignition and not the carb that is causing all the popping, snapping, and stumbling off idle. I'm thinking new plugs and wires are next, being as they are the only components that have not been replaced.
Installed the fan shroud on the shorty mounted an amp under the silverado seats and wired up some 6x9's in the door, havent fabbed up the head unit mounting plate yet. New upper radiator hose, installed DS outside mirror. Put the soft-ray door glass in along with new regulators, scrapers and felts. All in all a fairly productive weekend.

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I went to the Homestead and picked up my NOS Grille for my 70cst plus several boxes ful of parts that I bought about five years ago. Now I need to take them down to the body shop so when they start to re-assemble my truck they will have the parts for installation.

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I pulled the old tranny out of my '71. Took a partial bath in burnt tranny fluid cuz my plastic bag around the output shaft tore open. Picked up my useless wheel from the wheel shop. Filled my internet shopping cart with wheels, then deleted it. Pulled some hair out. Did that a few more times. Now I'm having a beer or twelve.
