Hello All, Here is a 1972 GMC Sierra Grande truck I just bought, its going to be a parts truck, it has the original paint and surprisingly only 1 dime size of rust on one cab corner. Everything else has zero rust. I bought it for the factory tilt steering wheel since my Blazer has 4 speed and most of the ones I have seen are for automatics. One question, is it a Dana? Special-K thinks so. It also has a factory woodgrain tach dash thats going in Jtrux's future Cheyenne Super SWB Stepside truck

I am going to part out this GMC soon so let me know if anyone is interested in parts in the near future. Critter may want the cab, door, hood. Thanks all and give me your opinions. I even think it may have had propane but is it factory? Pics included.

Ok sierragrande71 but before I get in "trouble" here, this is not a for sale parts thread, I mostly want to know if this is a Dana which we think it is and most likely 3.54 gears, SPID is gone. If anyone wants parts you can pm me. It is a LWB, but bed floor in almost perfect shape only a few cut holes for propane tanks or something, only surface rust. Thanks.

70cst, the problem is I want to be fair on prices but I have no idea on most parts for good prices for board members, I need to do research. I do know one rule, no auction type of sales and I must post prices. What do you think in the WIW thread for parts? or should we leave it here or move it? Thanks guys, def rookie at selling here

Looks like it used to be a factory Big block truck, I can see the PS reservoir on the drivers fender and the fan shroud. Can't tell if it still has the BB in it. It has dana rearend in it. GREAT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok gang... give him a bit of time to come up with prices, this thread was moved due to the interest shown in parts.
As for the original question, yes, that is a dana rear, and I agree with teeitup, looks like it was a big block truck, so it should be a 3.54 gear.

Looks like an old tow rig between the 4 speed w/big block, the nice bed floor, trailer brakes, rear leafs... and all the add on stuff for the rear suspention... I see an add on sway bar, leaf mods, and coil over springs added too.

With that being said, the gearset could well have been swapped out, so pull the cover before saying anything for certian.

Thanks guys for moving the thread, and for the info Randy, Longhorn Man. We thought it may have been an original BB, but it now has a small block ;( Anyway, I bought it for the 4 speed tilt and woodgrain tach and for a decent price. I'll do some research and give out great prices so stay tuned.

Did you keep the dash bezel? How was just the woodgrain overlay on it? Any rips, etc.? Also, is the glove box door woodgrain faded or do they look good as well? Thanks Trevor
