72 Cheyenne stepside. Worth anything?

I'm looking at a 72 stepside Cheyenne short bed. Here are the options:

350ci
AT
AC
PB
PS
AM/FM radio (factory)
Bench seat
Original paint (Orange)
headliner
cargo light
wood grain door panels

The truck runs but probably wont make it more than 10 miles d/t bad valve. Rust on both rockers, and some on the roof (inside above the visors), drivers side floor pan has small rust spot. Other than that...the truck is complete. The body is fairly straight. Since it is a Cheyenne, does it drive the value up more?

I will post pics as soon as can... SOrry!

EDIT:Please read the rules.No WIW posts w/o a subscription.

Re: 72 Cheyenne stepside. Worth anything?

I would say the Chyenne pk. would increase the value. I was wondering though ,did they make a Chyenne in a stepside? If they did ,did they come with the same trim on the cab as the fleet sides? If the rust is not too extensive ,check under the cab( The mounts ,floor boards etc.) and it doesn't cost any more than the same vehicle in non running condition, I say so.Yes .
Check to see if the numbers on that engine match .If so rebuild that engine if not replacment engines are everywhere.

I've seen the cheyenne stepsides before. The am/fm is worth between 250-500 depending on condition.

Re: 72 Cheyenne stepside. Worth anything?

PLEASE!!!No one reply with a price and the thread can remain.

Yes,it would be worth more being a Cheyenne and especially being a Stepside. How much,I can`t say due to rules not allowing WIW posts unless a subscriber.
I am allowing this thread to remain. But,no one should give any amounts.Keep this as a general conversation and it stays. Thanks

Sounds like a cool truck and a Stepside Cheyenne is right rare. The Stepsides had no side mouldings because of the bed. That rust in the header panel means the seam seal cracked and leaked and the inner upper cab got rusted.I`d inspect what you can of the cowl passage area.Look to the extreme ends of the firewall out near the fenders and your vent area/kick panels. If the price was right I`d still want it.It should be saved. The header panel is available or this truck is worth a donor truck to go towards it.If you don`t want that much of a project, put it on to someone else.I know a couple businesses that would want it if no individual shows interest.

Re: 72 Cheyenne stepside. Worth anything?

Sorry special-k, i didn't know. If you do get it, it might be easier to just locate another cab, unless your handy with a welder. I would say save it for the right price, it's cool nonetheless.

Re: 72 Cheyenne stepside. Worth anything?

Sorry for the trouble, but thanks!

Who would sell a header panel? Are these available as a reproduction?

Re: 72 Cheyenne stepside. Worth anything?

No problems guys.I still see this as a chance to get info, learn, and a worth as far as worth messin`with or not.Just can`t give numbers.Anyone can check around with trucks for sale and get thier own values. Also,it does appear as from a seller but from a shopper. This would be cool except a scammer could be disguising it that way and still make a deal off-site.

Yes,Tri-Plus makes them and many vendors can get them.
