Question Intake Manifold gaskets

Hey, been a way for a while, working on the VW.

I've heard it 2 ways, do I have to take the valve cover gaskets off to replace the intake manifold gaskets? When I looked at it, it looked like I had to but a guy I work with says I don't?

Thanks for the help,
Pat

just as long.

You should be OK without having to replace them. Even if you have to lift the valve covers a little to get the intake off, you can just tighten them back down.

if the cork gaskets in your valve covers are ok, and not glued on both sides, you should be able to reuse them, the valve covers will most likely have to come off the get the intake off. Valve cover gaskets are cheap, though, and messy as all get out when they leak, if it were me, i'd replace them too.
