Hey guys I was wondering if any of you TH400's out there had an idea about the ele. kick down module. My pick up doesn't have one, I know Lokar sells one for $100 but I was wondering if there was a low cost fix for this.

All you need is a switch off the gas pedal that closes and sends 12v to the tranny.Auto parts store should have one farely cheap.

Keep your eyes pealed at the swap meets, parts board, etc. The stock switches are still fairly common and they can be tested with a multimeter.
The landing pad, where the switch strikes, can be a challange to find but you can make your own strike pad pretty easy.
If your truck came stock with a T400, you may still have the wiring in your harness.

I used a regular wide open throttle switch on my GMC 454/400 combo, it was around $10 at my local speed shop. There are many brackets available to adjust the position of the switch to make your right foot happy.

Universal for most carbs N.O.S #15640
Edelbrock carbs, edelbrock #72280

The pedal switch is the small picture in post 2. It mounts near the gas pedal. When you "step" on the gas, the round tab sticking out the side of the switch is pushed by the pedal rod and the switch closes. I'm definitely no expert on the subject... I run a lokar kickdown on my 700R tranny. The donor cab I bought was from a big block truck with the Turbo 400 and about all I know about it is where I took it off.

TH350 kickdown is cable operated.

The t350 is not electrical so it won't work.

oh, didn't know the 400 was electric. My boss has a 400. (so he says) I will have to look at his next time he drives it to work. He either doesn't have a kick down or it is a cable wich would mean it's a TH350. Right? I know it's a 3speed auto

Easy to adjust. You can feel the switch engage when you tug on the cable. Just adjust so it works at WOT.
