More progress on the 82
Had a great helper friday night to help put on my new chrome valve covers and hi-torque mini-starter. Sounds awesome starting up now.
also replaced the carb gaskets and ran a pcv valve so I could cure my idiling and running issue. Now it idles at 900 and is a whole lot smoother now. This is my helper telling his mother what we are doing. He put on a shirt that he got when he was 2 or 3(he is now 7) and it kept me rolling all night to see him in it. Adjusted the starter saturday morning and drove it to Oktoberfest so Brandon could go to the fair. Today I finally finished rattle can painting the exterior. Now it is all one color and I can start on the body panels. From this: To this: Motor before: Motor after:

Re: More progress on the 82
what kind of shims are you running on the starter? did you use the two to space it down off the block and the others to move the staerter back to the front of the truck from the mounting plate?
Truck looks real good by the way

Re: More progress on the 82
The starter didn't need any shims.
And the K&N looks so much better than the cheap paper element it used to have.
