Air valve questions
Hey guys, I have a few questions on air valve sizing
I have 2 ART Ride Pro Es, one with the Big Red 1/2" valves & the other with the smaller valves they sell My question is, since Im not wanting to hop or anything I dont think that running 1/2" line is necessary, especially in the rear So do I run my 1/2" valves with smaller line, like 3/8" or do I run the smaller valves which are set up for 1/4" line ??? Any vids of speeds to compare to would be great Thanks, Matt |

Re: Air valve questions
I would run what ever you had and put in something that would restrict it like a flow control. They also make 1/2" pipe fittings (felame to male) that are "blanks". You would just drill what ever size hole you want in them. I went with 1/8 holes on mine.

Re: Air valve questions
Are they both 2 way or 4 way? I preffer the 1/4 over half for the adjustability and it's still plenty fast depending on the volume of air and pressure, you should expect a 3-4 sec. rise time out of the 1/4" vs. a 1-2 sec rise time with 1/2" but make sure if you are bagging all 4 corners that you are running an individual wheel set up

Re: Air valve questions
Both set ups are FBSS
I think Ima see what the 1/2" valves with 3/8" line does, as I have 3/8" line running out of my bags right now |

Re: Air valve questions
You could install ball-valves... then you could have an adjustable speed.

Re: Air valve questions
Fittings are available that can go from 1/2 -3/8 or 1/4". So use whichever you preferor want.
BTW I carry thos e fittings in stock if needed in PTC or compression DOT or non. |

Re: Air valve questions
Are you running our E2 control system? the reason I ask is because with our E2 you can control your valve speed to slow them down to aquire your desired ride height.... As for the fittings I recommend DOT PTC fittings much easier and user friendly....

Re: Air valve questions
I wouldn't run 1/2". I had it on my 69 and it was too fast. Im putting 3/8" on my Sub. Plus all the fittings are typically cheaper so thats a plus and its easier to bend.

Re: Air valve questions
set it up with 3/8... if it is too fast, insert a piece if 1/4" inside the 3/8 airline. BTW.. the RideProE2 will not physically change the inflate or deflate speed. The speed adjustment is relative to the auto system. That setting determines how long the ECU will hold the valve open. The higher the setting the longerit holds it open. Lower setting and it holds it open for a less amount of time.

Re: Air valve questions
I'm running 1/2" valves with 1/2" line from the tank to the valve, and 1/4" to the bag. This is the right speed. It doesn't get up aburptly. It also make it slower on the way down too.
