Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
I just got a blazer tank ordered from a forum member and I have no idea which filler neck I want. I think this is a 21 gallon tank so I'd like to see what it will look like from the back.
I am thinking about a bed fill neck...anyone do one in low buck mode?

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Mine came out under the fender under the bed when I first did mine, then I moved it into the bed. The big thing is clearance for the fill between the bed floor and frame and having enough fall for it to fill. Any way I have some body lift on this one.

Cool...is that the ECE filler cap? this is exactly what I want to do in my bed but the surface is factory ribbed steel.

Yes it's a marine cap. Most boat places handle them. I used a brass elbow on the bottom side.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Mine wasn't exactly "low buck" but it can be done with a junkyard fuel door. One thing I did to my tank was to cut the filler neck short, then welded on a piece of exhaust tubing of the same diameter to make it angle over the frame better, instead of up toward the bed floor. That gave me a little more room between the frame and the bed floor.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Here's another question...there are no fuel lines past the cab right now...is there a kit out there that I can get or do I have to make the lines myself from tubing?

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
I got my lines from NAPA. They sell them in different lengths, but I don't remember if I bought 4' or 5' sections. Then buy the fittings that tie the two lines together. Some clamps and a decent tubing bender and you'll be done in no time! Check my build thread in my sig below. On the first few pages you should be able to see the 3/8" line on the right side of the frame.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Any tubing manufacturers will have options for Blazers. That's where I would start.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Thanks for the info....I will need custom tubing since I have a long bed, so I'll just get tubing and fittings from the local OR's up the street.
Next weekend is the redo....gonna carpet the interior & maybe rework my console at the same time since I'll have the seats out.

Suburbans use the same gas tank as a Blazer . . .... and are longer .

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Hey now...that's a thought....thanks! I only have two days to do this....a pre-bent line sure would be a nice idea....especially if all I have to do is cut it once!

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
The main reason I suggest it is because I was going to bend my own but instead used some of the pre-fab style stainless hard-lines for the front brakes on my 74. Quick & painless..... so much so that I'm going to do the same for future stuff as well. As an added benefit, fuel lines can be purchased in varying ID's just in case you need to flow more to go more!

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Hey Gray, when I tried to install the tank I realized it is 95476903476098570689730947608576098x easier with the bed off, and you can run some low pressure rubber fuel line back to the sending unit. Just becareful on how you run it so it doesn't get pinched punctured or anything, I hope you enjoy it!

An engine hoist, straps or chain, plus some 2x4's & it's a one man job.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
True Scoti and thanks for the info about the lines and sizes. This truck might wind up a BB one day so that might be an issue down the road.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Yeah, my 6 cylinder uses 5/16" lines and the V-8 uses 3/8" I don't know if a big block uses bigger than that.
I am going to use the lines from the parts store too on my swap. I figure one or two straight lines, and rubber on the ends, no bending except maybe some gradual bends as it follows the frame. I like the marine cap in the floor of the bed.

Re: Show me your blazer tank pics and filler neck...
Yep, I just ordered one. Found it at Boat Bandit....$36 shipped.
Gonna have to come up with some sort of wooden insert though as the current ribbed steel floor [why'd they do that dept.] is not set up for that.
