Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

So i was sitting on my porch smoking a cig then I hear my truck doors open look up and they were in my truck. I stood up and said "what the **** are you doing in my truck". They took off not even closing the doors. They dropped some stuff so the cops have that for finger printing. I hope they are on file. Within the 3 seconds it took me to stand up and yell they had popped off the ignition. They were hell bent on getting my truck and quick. So just a friendly reminder to keep an eye on your trucks.

Glad to hear that its still safe and sound. I've always got an eye on my truck, the minute you think its fine or forget to lock the doors once, is when things go south.

Re: Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

you got lucky!! .. tell ya what tho I doubt the police will do anything with this except take a report.. youd best be very observant for a while make sure they dont come back...... they used to sell something called a car cuff that put a large padlock over the ignition switch and was locked with a padlock that was effective and didnt allow the truck to be stolen

Re: Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

A strategically hidden toggle switch and wire to ground out the coil would be very effective in making sure the truck didn't start. Not to mention, all the useless cranking would sure make a lot of noise if they were trying to start it.

Re: Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

Glad your truck wasn't stolen! Seems around my area, people aren't looking to rob older chevy's like ours. Not to say I don't lock my doors and play it safe. Hondas and Acuras are stolen like crazy around here. Thieves take them for the engines to use in their rice racers.

Re: Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

That is really crappy man! I got an electric fuel pump on my truck... toggle on the hot wire works magic... enough fuel in the bowls to make it out of the drive way but after that... loud crankin from the high torque mini starter!!!

Glad to see another metal head hanging around... Bleed Black Label!

Re: Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

wow that sucks. Glad they did not get it. A good toggle switch hidden will save your truck. If they can't get it fast they will just leave it. Around here they are all aboput the imports.

yep, dogs are the best protection, they will alert you! I had my balzer broken into 15 years ago and my Akita was going nuts inside, we went out and he chased the felon over a 6' fence, the felon lost a shoe and was later caught .

I have no use for anybody that steals !!! They are to sorry to go to work & get what they want. They had rather lay on their a$$, and take what someone else has worked their butt off for.

Re: Some POS kids tried to steal my truck.

I live in the Atlanta, GA area, Conyers actually. Anywhere I take my truck, like to the parts store or my mechanic (yes, I'm a girl who doesn't know how to build an engine yet!) or anywhere auto related, I'm always told to keep an eye on my truck because folks around here LOVE this body style truck (85 Silverado) and will steal it in a second. I put a Compustar alarm in my Jeep (sold) and I loved it, it made me feel safe, but I left the horn and siren unplugged so I could get the page on the 2-way, but not make noise.

BTW, it had remote start. Anyway to rig a remote start for a carbed engine? Or, how hard is it to convert it to fuel injection or can that be done? THANKS!!

BTW again...my alarm dogs are 7 shar-pei who don't ask any questions.

I would put it someplace where it is really hard to get to. They have it targeted and if they want it then they will problly come back for it.
