Re: Happy Veterans Day..

I'm proud to have served my time. There were good times and bad, trials and triumphs, but all in all I remember it fondly and with pride. I just hope the men and women serving now get to come home safe to their families like I did.

Re: thanks !!!

I don't speak for everybody, but for me, it's just my job. I have been in the Coast Guard 7 years now and have been everywhere from the Sea of Oman to Singapore. I am very thankful that I could serve my country during these times...

Re: Happy Veterans Day..

I keep this pic on my wall.. a buddy of mine took it from his F14 in 1983 while I was stationed on the USS John F. Kennedy.

It says, "Go ahead, mess with us!"

Happy Veteran's Day!!

Re: Happy Veterans Day..

Today I took my 6 year old daughter to a Veterans breakfast and then spoke to her first grade class about veterans day and helicopters.... I enjoy the public service but am more grateful to my grandfather and great grandfather that fought in both WW's and Korea...

Keep a prayer out for our boys and girls overseas right now, even if you aren't religious...it's really taking a toll on morale..

Re: Happy Veterans Day..

Veterans update!
WASHINGTON -- Veterans and active-duty military not in uniform can now render the military-style hand salute during the playing of the national anthem, thanks to changes in federal law that took effect this month.

Remember to wear your ribbons on Nov 11th!
