Vin# question

I 've bought a 72 swb steppside olive green military truck. has the miL spec tag on the glove comp door. has a diffrent vin also it's CCE142J142001 MODEL # IS LISTED AS CE10704 any info would be apprechiated. no it's not for sale i sold my 68lwb stepside to get this truck and sold 1 of my harleys to restore it. thanks

That's a normal VIN. The only thing odd, is in 72, they added an extra C to the begining to designate Chevy, or a T for GMC.
CCE142J142001
C chevy
C conventional cab (2 wheel drive)
E v8
1 1/2 ton
4 cab and bed.
2 1972
J Jansesville build plant
142001 #42001 off that assembly line at the plant for that model year. If there were 2 assembly lines of the same model, then it would start with 800001.

Your model number CE10704 decodes as;
C 2 wheel drice
E v8
1 1/2 ton
07 SWB
04 stepside bed
