Sounds like your tank may be rusted if the gas is staining the side of your bed a brown color. As for locking gas caps we sell them at my work "Schucks, Kragen, Checker O'reily" for like 15 bucks real easy fix

A new rubber is about 30-60 depending on who you get it from and a glass shop might charge you 30-40 to change it out... If you have the chrome, unless you are dead stuck on keeping it, dump the chrome. It cost way more and it takes "two glass guys and a donkey" (exact words from a glass shop we used when I had a body shop and called them to install a windshield in a '70 longbed that had chrome trim...lol) to install it. Not fun. Give them a call and see... The glass rubbers are cheap and easy to find, there are so many of our trucks out there. Don

It's not unusual for the gas cap gaskets to go away.
You can get a new cap @ just about any decent auto supply. As for the windshield, are you sure it's the windshield that is leaking? Where exactly is the water running/going?

Hey Oldblue I have a new windshield seal you can have for the cost of shipping, probaly about $10. It's a regular one without the chrome trim. PM me if interested.
